Honors and Awards
Chapman Elementary to receive South Carolina Association for Educational Technology Innovative Program Award:
This program acknowledges South Carolina schools or districts as having exhibited excellence in the integration of technology in education. South Carolina schools continue to lead the way in educational technology and high quality work, both of which are exhibited by this year’s winning program.
Chapman Elementary School has earned both the Palmetto Silver Award and the CAG (Closing the Achievement Gap) Silver Award for 2010 and a Palmetto Siver Award in 2011. The awards were announced by the State Department of Education and the Education Oversight Committee in April. The Palmetto Silver is given for “high levels of absolute performance and high rates of growth” on the PASS tests. The CAG is given to schools for “substantial improvement in the achievement of African-American students and those eligible for reduced meals.”
